Viasat is committed to supporting the military and their families, whether it's through our technology, hiring veterans, or our outreach programs. With over 1,100 military families already impacted through our programs and 1/3 of our employee population being veterans, it’s an honor to support those who protect and serve.
We are excited to launch Viasat Operation STEM to continue our mission of keeping military communities connected to education–now more than ever.
The coronavirus has brought our way of life to a grinding halt–summer camps are cancelled, after-school programs are no longer, and students are now faced with absorbing schoolwork and information from home and on their computers. At Viasat, we want to make this new way of learning more interactive and engaging. Through Viasat Operation STEM, military families (active duty, retired, and veteran) can take online coding classes through our partner MetaCoders, download at-home STEM activities, and sign up for a Viasat technologist to come speak to your classroom when the fall school year begins.
“We understand very well that today, the U.S. military is populated by young men and women who have grown up in a connected world and voluntarily choose to protect our nation. Viasat believes we increasingly have an obligation to provide them with the same technology they have grown accustomed to depending on the civilian world.”
— Ken Peterman, President, Viasat Government Systems
